Houston, We Have a Decision

I've had some major writer's block recently {if you hadn't noticed} I've mentioned little bits here and there on Twitter about the current state of our lives but haven't put them in a post. Currently I am feeling an urge to write, but am struggling to put my thoughts in any sort of order, therefore, here come the bullet points!
  • We have a plan! HB has decided to go back to school and get another degree. His previous degree isn't very useful in this day and age, so he will be pursuing something more practical. That means that we are bidding active duty military life adieu {at least for now}
  • With this life decision comes yet another huge one. We will be moving!!! The movers have been scheduled and I have already started plotting our journey {we're making some fun stops along the way} I decided if we had to drive 2,000 miles that we might as well make a little family vacation out of it.
  • Since HB will be returning to school, I will be returning to the workforce. However, at this time I do not think I will be actively searching for a museum position, but be looking for opportunities with law firms. I want to gain some experience so I will be able to put my Paralegal certificate to good use.
  • Some of you may be wondering why I'm calmer about going back to work now vs. when I considered it before. Well, basically, with HB going to school his schedule will be more flexible than with the military. Also, we will be living near his family {actually we'll be living with them until I have a job/we're more settled} so Gma will be helping watch Gbear sometimes. This means he will only have to go to daycare perhaps a few days a week and quite honestly at this age some social interaction with other munchkins will be good for him!
  • I am a little nervous about moving away from where we are now. My dad's family is from this area, so I have been coming here since I was little wee and my parents are retiring here soon {couldn't they have done it sooner lol} I have been living here {with the exception of going home for part of HB's deployment} since 2004. It's both exciting and nerve wracking to be moving somewhere totally new {some of you are thinking, wow, how ridiculous, it happens all the time in Military life, but that doesn't mean there aren't nerves!}
  • I just sent in applications for two jobs! One is a part time position at a law firm and the other is totally random. There is an opening at an adorable baby boutique and I couldn't resist applying. It could be fun and I figured if I did get the opportunity, I could always continue to look for more "career" like opportunities.
  • The house is so far from being ready to be packed up and moved it's ridiculous. And I have to get it clean for the landlord to come inspect next week. Technically our lease isn't up until June, but as long as she is able to find a new tenant she is willing to let us out of it early. {so we need to make the place look fab for potential renters} It's a super convenient location so I don't think it will be hard for her to find renters.
  • The weather has been pretty fabulous here, but supposedly it's not going to stick around. BOO.
  • My Brother is getting a new puppy and it makes me want another SO badly.
  • HB fell asleep before GBear did. Poor guy, his allergies really take a toll on him {and it didn't help that I asked him to mow the lawn to make it look pretty for potential renters}
That is all for now. I'm allowing myself some uninterrupted blog catch up time now since I revised my resume and got a few applications in ;-) And just for fun, some puppy cuteness!

I think the military clause should get you out of your lease, ETS orders are still orders. It might be worth looking into. Let me know if you need any help with anything. (and I'm not just saying that to say it)
