Happy Yellow House

It's official. As of last Friday, we are homeowners!  The moment our agent told us that it had been recorded I was equal parts elated and terrified. It's a big grown up thing to do to buy a home and let's face it, I'm still very much learning how to be a grownup!
It has been an absolute whirlwind since closing Friday evening. We spent our weekend going on trips to Home Depot to get some supplies to make the house a little more our own. It was way too monotone for us {think white carpet, cream walls, beige countertops, white blinds} and since for once we are owners not renters, we decided to dive right in.
Our first project is to paint the first floor. It's a super open concept floorplan so we had to find colors that really work well together. It took us a few trips to get samples and paint them on the walls to finally decide on 3 colors: Jamaica Bay Blue, Sunkissed Yellow, and a gray {which my mind is completely blanking on the name of at the moment} And it just now occurred to me that my house now matches my blog ;-)
Between shampooing the carpets {whenever I move into a new house I HAVE to. especially with a kid that loves to play on the floor}, preparing to paint, and painting I feel like I have been on the go non stop.  It will feel nice to relax for a few days before we start on another project!
