Mamappropriate: Swimwear Edition

Since becoming a mom, I have struggled with fashion and finding a balance between functional, cute and what I like to call Mamappropriate. You see, when you have a munchkin climbing all over you and pulling on things, you have to be wary of anything that could cause a wardrobe malfunction. Having said that, I don’t want to dress all stuffy and boring, because I’m a young mom. I jokingly say I want to be a MILF, but with class. {ok, maybe I’m kind of serious lol}

With Spring right around the corner, bathing suits are on my mind. Yes, I know they are Summer attire, but one must be prepared! I find myself struggling. Is it ok to wear a bikini now that I’m a mom. Or will people judge me and think I’m a floozy. {The jig is up, clearly I know about the birds and the bees if I have a toddler on my hip}
I’d like to introduce you to some of the best and worst in my Swimsuit Search 2011.

Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret
 Sparkles and strings? Just asking for Gbear to pull it off. They are like baby crack and mama modesty kryptonite. The middle one has a peek a boo above my cooter. And the last one, I should just wrap myself in tin foil and head to the Jersey Shore.

Victoria's Secret, Frederick's, Frederick's
In case you can't tell, that first one is denim. Well, faux denim, but really?! And the other two, well I think they speak for themselves.

Who else has bathing suits on the brain? What are your favorite styles? Where do you shop?

I really like the first pink one up top and the black one on top.
I am a young mom too and honestly I think in a piece i would look retarded, i say you can be a mom and still wear a bikini and feel/be sexy without overdoing it with all the cutouts.
and believe me there will be plenty of other moms wearing them and people who really shouldnt be wearing them :)

The bottom middle is the worst. Now who in their right mind would wear something like that?

Faux Denim...I wonder if they make that one in maternity? Really classy, lol. I'm due in July so I will be purposely avoiding ALL swimsuit sections this year : )

Oh come on, that barely there black one on the bottom row (next to the denim) is FANTASTIC. How can you not want to wear that?! *blink*

For real though - I LOVE the black one on the top far right. I think it's pretty fantastic. I really like that it has full butt coverage :)

If you have given birth, and still look smokin' in a bikini- GO FOR IT! My Aunt mandy has an 18 year old and still rocks bikinis because her body is smokin'! Once you can't, DON'T! I obviously and a skirt bathing suit body, but I LOVE the look of the reddish orange one on the top row. Even if I had the smoking body and nokids, the bottom row would be a no no!

Okay, I'm weird, but I like the faux denim swimsuit look. :) But I'm weird.

I would LOVE to get an Esther Williams swimsuit. They seem like they would be so flattering. Just crazy expensive!

I'm not a mum *sadface* but I'm totally in love with one pieces at the moment (sounds kind of frumpy but some are really cute!). My favourite is the Seafolly boyleg mailot *swoon*
