Walk and Roll

Every now and then, a cause rolls around and it hits close to home. The proximity of the cause adds to its importance and you just have to take action. Now, I don't pretend to be a huge philanthropist, but I do enjoy helping out when I can {more often with my time than with my money} So when a family friend called for help raising money and participating in a Walk and Roll for Spina Bifida, Gbear and I had to join in!

Taken from the Walk-N-Roll site:

"The Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida is a family-friendly walk event being held to raise awareness about Spina Bifida and celebrate the accomplishments of the over 166,000 Americans living with it. All proceeds are used for programs and services for people living with Spina Bifida."

The event was held at a gorgeous State Park and Gbear had so much fun with all of his friends. It was so great to get out and see people living and THRIVING, not letting Spina Bifida stand in there way. I also enjoyed seeing the sense of community and support that the families lent to one another in their various stages in the journey. We raised a bit of money and we raised awareness all while having a great time.
