I needed a few days to get life back on track when I got back from vacation, but now things are back to normal, so I thought I would share some pictures!
While most of the country was experiencing crazy winter weather, the west coast was beautiful! I think a little taste of sunshine was just what I needed to hold me over until Spring {thank you Punxsutawney Phil for seeing your shadow} We had a blast walking around the city. Gbear was exhausted every day from all the excitement. J even got us tickets to see Daniel Tosh one night and recruited a friend to babysit. J lives in a part of the city that is swarming with small children, so she loved fitting in with Gbear in tow. We even took Gbear to the Exploratoreum. He was a little young for most of it, but we had fun and he enjoyed getting to romp around. It was a great vacation, but I was ready to come home. I wish we would have been able to plan it around HB's training schedule, so that I wouldn't have had to use up those days with him. And maybe then I wouldn't have come home to such a messy house. He's lucky I missed him too much to care ;)

Turkey Day Success
Well, Thanksgiving ended up being quite the success. It was great having J here and we're already looking forward to our next visit. And of course it was amazing having HB home this year and not leaving a few days later (Thanksgiving was at the end of his R&R last year). Definitely a very thankful year.
Something else I'm thankful for; my first attempt at a Turkey and all of Thanksgiving dinner. I can say I pretty much did it all, with a little onion dicing help from the HB and some garlic mincing assistance from J. Lil Gbear even helped smashed some pretzels for the pretzel chocolate pie. Our leftovers have been disappearing quite quickly.
Our Thanksgiving Feast (we got fancy and even put my diet coke in a glass haha) |
After we thoroughly stuffed ourselves, J and I enjoyed some delicious cocktails and we all sat around and watched Christmas movies. J was great and took some family photos for us too, so I finally ordered our Christmas cards. I can't wait to see them!
Tomorrow it's back to work for HB and cleaning the house for me- and getting the house ready for Christmas. I'm not going to go all out this year because we're going away for Christmas, but I love Christmas the most of any holiday, so I can't help but have a little Christmas cheer :)
Hope you all had lovely holidays, I'll be catching up on all your blogs as soon as I can, but for now, I'm going to enjoy a cup of cocoa and some qt with the hubby
