Flying High on Endorphins

"Exercise creates endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. And happy people just don't shoot their husbands."

Lately I've been finding myself in a funk. I've blamed everyone around me, in one way or another. I'm tired because Gbear woke up in the middle of the night. I'm grumpy because HB is playing video games. What I really needed to do was take a look at me.

Today I did just that. I got my butt off the couch and turned on Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I was lacking hand weights, but I got creative and substituted Coke bottles {I'm a weakling, so they were a great weight} I put lil Gbear in his pack and play and let him watch mommy do a workout. He thought it was HILARIOUS and to be fair, it was pretty funny. I haven't exercised since HB came home. Let that sink in. I was the kind of girl that played a sport every season and Irish danced at least 3 times a week {let me tell you, Irish dancing isn't for wimps ;) }

I felt like a whole new person. I timed the workout so that when I ended, lil Gbear was ready for a nap so I could take a wonderful shower. The rest of my day was so much more productive and I was freaking high on life. I won't try to pretend that I will do this every day. We all have our lazy moments, but lookout world, a new happier in shape McDancer is headed your way!

That shred workout is TOUGH!!! I love Jillian because she kicks my ass every time!

Awesome! High five! But if you do get one of those hot pink spandex suits...pleas pleas post pictures!

I like the comment that irish dance isn't for wimps...I was in the best shape of my life when I step danced. Great workout!

I can only imagine a sitting child watching an adult workout. It must be rather entertaining for them.

Awesome! I know exactly how you feel though. That's why I started the walking thing. I just wanted to get out and do something for me :)

I've never tried the shred, but I've done P90X. It's great if you're consistent with it - which I'm not. Especially now that we've got the boys. I can't take a step without them being underfoot. I can just imagine how Yoga X would (or wouldn't) work!
