I don't have the brain power to really blog today and I want to enjoy some HB cuddles while I can. It's been a good day though, puppy park adventures, a trip to Cabela's and Lil Gbear walked across the room today! {of course getting him to repeat his walking adventures has been an epic fail lol}
I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend and here's a little something to add to that enjoyment. Who doesn't love a boy band? One of my favorite Irish boy bands {back in the day} Westlife! This song, while cheesy in it's boy bandness, has some pretty lyrics. Cheesy, but pretty!

Weekend Recap Rambles
My mind is kind of a jumble right now, trying to think of all the things I need to do this week before we enjoy Christmas vacation, so for now I'll just to a quick recap of the weekend. It was nice with a bit of relaxation, studying, and Christmas fun.
He's been really into balls recently, so we thought this would be awesome. (I'd also heard some great reviews) Sadly (and rather hilariously) he's TERRIFIED of it. He loves the balls, but as soon as it's turned on he starts crying. When we turn it off he continues to yell angrily at it. It would be adorable if I didn't feel so bad for scaring him. Oh well, he'll probably grow into it, right? haha
So that was pretty much our weekend. This week, finish making Christmas gifts and buy the last few. Mail out Christmas cards. Pack. Lil GBear's first birthday. It's a jam packed week! Happy Monday Everyone!
- Finished up my final section of the Paralegal course. So I am officially finished and with nothing less than a B+ (I was really hoping for all A's, but I'm still pretty proud of myself)
- Bought Lil GBear a birthday and a Christmas gift. (We'll get more after we see what the relatives get, so we don't double up) I was so excited to get him this:

- Had a visit from my brother's wife. She was driving through and brought by some birthday gifts from my parents and brother. He got an awesome Fisher Price Pony (it interacts with the tv) and a tug boat. Guess what his new favorite thing is. If you guessed tug boat you win (unless you want to count the wrapping paper it was in)
- Made a bunch of Christmas cookies~ they weren't the prettiest but HB loved them and when I brought some to a party I was told they reminded them of grandma's cookies. I'm going to take that as a compliment haha.
- As mentioned, went to a little holiday gathering. It was at a small art gallery run by some people I used to work with, so pretty much it was a little work reunion. They had ornament making (the ornaments were themed to go with the exhibit) and I had a really good time catching up and have a little grown up time.

Let It Snow & Weekend Recap
| Right now lil GBear is napping and I'm sitting curled up watching the snow fall. I have a long list of things to do around the house before J gets here this evening *squeal* but the snow is so pretty, I'm just going to enjoy it a bit longer. Bear Cub is romping like a total goof which is always amusing, he tries to eat the falling snowflakes and runs around in big circles in the yard. I love snow, but I admit if it sticks around I'll be sick of it in a day or two, but for now its kind of magical. If only HB didn't have to work today! We had a great weekend- we didn't really do anything all that exciting, but mostly just enjoyed each others company. We went to the mall for a new roaster oven for the turkey for Thanksgiving- it's red and matches our pots and pans. We got lil GBear an umbrella stroller, which he and daddy play around the house with and Bear chases them. I thought it would be way more convenient for holiday travels. We celebrated our wedding anniversary this weekend too :) I finished the letter scrapbook and HB loved it. It's sitting on his bedside table and he looks at it before bed. I admit, I got a little sentimental reading through some of the letters and it was so amazing to see how we progressed over the year he was away. And HB got me a gift that is so me. He gets big husband points for this one. This is it, but with our names ;) We are not the Folph Family haha. |
| http://www.etsy.com/shop/LillyEllenDesigns He got it from Lilly Ellen Designs on Etsy. She has some super cute jewelry, you should check it out! We visited some of our old haunts throughout the day and got some delicious food from one of our favorite little spots. Like I said, nothing too exciting, but that's ok with me. We cuddled and watched some tv that we had missed from earlier in the week. Tonight J gets here and we're planning on going to the city to do some "touristy" things, since we really haven't done that together since freshman year of college. Hopefully we'll get some good pictures of our adventures. And I'm starting my Thanksgiving preparations too. Should be a busy but fun week. I'll try to keep up with y'all and pop in from time to time, but blogging maybe sparse once J gets here. Just in case, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! |

Is it Monday Again?
Well, the weekend is over. I have to say, I really enjoyed that extra hour yesterday, but it made Monday seem even more woebegone. However, the sun is shining and we have a long weekend coming up, so Hello Bright Side!
This weekend wasn't too exciting; we're becoming a low key family. Friday night we stayed in and watched Public Enemies. I will admit, I don’t often watch movies that aren’t romantic comedies (I used to, but now I’m mentally lazy) but I highly enjoyed this movie. And it was a definite plus that HB enjoyed it too. I loved the costumes-the thirties have a certain innate romanticism and Johnny Depp is an amazing actor. The movie is chock full of other amazing talents, Marion Cottillard, Giovanni Ribsi, Billy Crudup, Christian Bale, and even a little Channing Tatum action. If you haven’t had an opportunity to see it and you enjoy a little action, a little mental prowess, and a look back at the 1930’s, I recommend checking it out.
Saturday we made a trip to Costco. I usually avoid Costco on the weekends, but this was just a quick trip. Doom had befallen our XBOX, but we had only gotten it this summer. Therefore, it was still under manufacturer’s warranty. And, my mum had told me that they have an awesome return policy. We decided to see if that was the case. SUCCESS. I now officially love Costco, with a fiery passion. Before, I had more of an admiration (who doesn’t love snacking while shopping), but now, in the words of PeeWee, I like Costco enough I’d marry it ;)
We also made a trip to the mall, because I HAD to get little man his Christmas sweater. Why the urgency? I could not risk missing out on getting him this
That’s right. I finally found panda clothes for little boys! I was always so disappointed, because pandas seemed to have been declared, Girl. Thank you Gymboree for bringing me Christmas a little early! (In case it wasn't clear, I have a slight *obsession* with pandas)
Our weekend ended with more relaxing at home and a fun trip to the puppy park. Bear Cub romped and tired himself out (I’m pretty sure he’s still recovering). Oh and I tried a new recipe, Ziti Bake. It was pretty tasty. I would tweak the recipe a bit if I make it again. Perhaps I’ll post the recipe later (I’ll try some of the leftovers first and see how it measures up)

Weekend Recap a Little Late
I'm a little behind. It feels like Monday to me, but alas, it is Tuesday. I'm not all that disappointed because that's one day closer to the weekend and quality time with HB. It's funny, after he got home from deployment, I thought the waiting for things to happen would end, but I find myself now waiting for him to get home from work, or waiting for Friday so he has the weekend off. It's the same with lil GBear. I wait for him to need a diaper change, wait for the next meal, wait for him to hit his developmental milestones. I need to work on being more in the moment and enjoying the present. But I digress.
This weekend I had been looking forward to going to the pumpkin patch, but watching the weather reports it seemed like our plans were going to be spoiled. I decided to remain hopeful and Saturday rolled around and it wasn't half bad. The sun even peeked out of the clouds now and again. So we went and picked out pumpkins for our little family. And the rain waited to start until we had gotten in the car to go home. Sunday was a pretty lazy day. Did a little cleaning round the house, rearranged some furniture (I'm never satisfied haha) but mostly just spent time with lil GBear and HB. I know HB enjoys a day to just unwind before going back to work on Mondays.
So, overall, a nice relaxing weekend. And it's officially, fall weather is finally here. HB made fun of me for already having out my down vest, but not all of us can wear shorts in the winter and still be warm!
